Whoopsie daisie

Forgot to introduce myself proper.

Feast yer' peepers on me.

Saddlin' Up!

Awful happy to be here, fellas. Figurin' there might be some good doin's hereabouts. Might could be a just bunch of foolishness, but ol' W.C. has participated in his share of both over the years, so ought to manage either way. Feel like puttin' my boots on the table and reachin' for the bottle.
Tasted tears and spilled my share of whiskey on the floor thata'way.

Ranch-Hand Randall's Top 10 Albums of 2010

Howdy y'all...it's ol' Randall here at the Boneshaker Ranch just throwing my two cents in on this year's top albums. As has been the case the past couple years, as far as music lists go, ol' Randall here found himself uncomfortably stuck between them whip-smart hipster kids at pitchfork and the diesel and dust folks over at nodepression.com. Smack-dab between the two is my hi-fi at the Boneshaker Ranch, where I reckon I'll be for a few more years to come. Without further ado, here's my list ya' pokes...and remember to always buy vinyl at the indie shop, donate to your local library, and be kind to your neighbors-wear your headphones after 10!
In no particular order whatsoever:

Justin Townes Earle - Harlem River Blues
Phosphorescent - Here's To Taking It Easy
Titus Andronicus - The Monitor
Peter Wolf - Midnight Souvenirs
Black Keys - Brothers
Mavis Staples - You Are Not Alone
Preservation Hall Band - Preservation
Tallest Man On Earth - The Wild Hunt
Arcade Fire - The Suburbs
Drive By Truckers - The Big To-Do

and what the hell...

Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings - I Learned The Hard Way

All the best in 2011...see you at the record store!!! Ol' Randall

RANCH Year In Review 2010: The Ranch Summit

AUSTIN, TEXAS - The annual Ranch Summit rolled on down to the Broken Spoke for the second night of music, dancing and libation. Founding members, Trigger (l) and Cookie (r), held a heated debate on the deteriorating state of the former's Spanish language skills, followed by an intense discussion surrounding the former's grooming habits. Whatever differences arose between the two sides were quickly soaked in a steady flow of tequila shots and Lone Star beerbacks. (photo courtesy of RANCH archives).

RANCH Year In Review 2010: The Ranch Summit

AUSTIN, TEXAS - The Annual RANCH Summit kicked off this year's festivities by attending the Iron & Wine + Calexico benefit show for Texas Midwives at the landmark Paramount Theatre in Austin. After a selection of his old and more recent work, Sam Beam was joined onstage by familiar cohorts, Calexico, for several songs, before together launching into the In The Reins EP.
Despite early ticket complications, by the grace of the cyber-gods, the RANCH boys scored first row, stage right, seats and later met Beam, Joey Burns, John Convertino and the boys at the Driskill Hotel. (photo courtesy of RANCH archives)

Christmas At The Broken Spoke

AUSTIN, TEXAS - The Ranch's very own, Sheriff, took time out this holiday season to corral country purist, Dale Watson, and share a few cold ones at Austin's legendary honky-tonk, The Broken Spoke. After an exhausting tour schedule which saw Dale rolling through Wisconsin and Illinois, the Austin favorite returned home for several Christmas shows at the Spoke, the famous Continental Club, and the greatest honky-tonk this side of 1951, Ginny's Little Longhorn Saloon.
